Austin and a cobra

This Austin stevens guy has no problem handling really large snakes, but i think most of them are "pets". In the pics from the link below, he's with giant retics, Anacondas ( i saw that show, in fact) and this huge cobra. I still say they are all pets.

i remember watching him dive into a lake (as i remember) after a venomous snake (cant remember exactly what snake either), also wrestling a 17 foot anaconda out of the water http://media.animal.discovery.com/fa...ogallery.html, think most of the snakes and other reptiles he handles may well be more tame than people think! also did anyone see the 7 deadly shots program where he got bitten twice?

i saw that seven deadliest thing and i thought it was actually pretty funny when he got bitten. his show's not terrible but he gets a little too dramatic at times for my liking. i still enjoy watching the show though.

Just watch the cobra clip on ebaumsworld.com of him handling a snake. Needless to say he gets what is coming to him.

im a big fan of jeff corwin, loved the filming he did with the boa (think that was the one where he got bitten on the face by it!), not to sure about the crocodile hunter, liked the shows but think he can be a little reckless at times but then a lot of the snake programs out there are based around that to make them more interesting!

we all have to remember that these shows are aimed at people without our view on reptiles. I have walked through my high school with a snake before and some girls almost started crying they were so scared, some people think that my ball python is a venomous serpent from hell. misinformed people prob get a kick out of people doing stupid things on TV just for a pay check. they din;t realize that some of these "wild animals" might be in their next door neighbors basement, and the animals in the show might be be tame pets.

Why would u take a ball python to school?

They don't like the attention so why give it to them...although it seems like you do.

If that snake were to bite someone, fellow herpers would take a hit with their rep all because you wanted to show off that you have a snake.

i didn't take my ball python to school. Not that it's any of your business, and i don't have to answer to you. i took my bull snake to school to show my teacher, who got me my first snake and he indecently keeps a ball python at school. i also help with a reptile show for kids. would you like to chastise me for that to. we bring lots of lizards and snakes for the kids to see, we educate them and try to put fears of reptiles at ease....i am such a terrible person.

you don't know me or anything about me, don't try to assumptions about me. i have brought my snake out my house twice since i bought it and it was not show off at school, it was to show my teacher, and some people in the hall way happened to see it. i know my snake would not bite someone, and i do realize that nothing is 100 percent so i never put my animals in the situation where the can hurt someone, i.e letting other people hold it..etc that was the last time i will respond to that topic, this post was about TV shows. Not your opinion of weather or not i should bring my snake anywhere.
i pride my self in the fact that i take care of my animals and i have never put them in a situation where their or anybody else wellbeing was in question.
the comment about my ball python was in reference to my aunt when i got him. she won't even come in to my basement because thats where i keep my snakes. by the way my name is Mark, i just thought it would be a little more polite for you to know my name before you made anymore unfounded accusations and insults.

i like to get back to the post now...

i like Jeff corwin for the fact that he talks about the animals like he really knows them in and out with out being a goofy f@#$ like Steve Irwin. i like Steve Austins show for the fact that he generally focuses on snakes, and i am more of a snake guy then a lizard guy, but i agree that he is a little dramatic, he always seems to searching until almost the end of his journey until he finds the animal he is looking for.
