Stick on thermometers are notorious for reading like crap. Do yourself and more importantly your snake a favour and invest in a digital thermometer.

my bp had one, i stopped using it after hearing how inacurate they are, but i left it in his cage. sometimes he would kinda climb on it. one day it gave way to his weight and peeled off and ended up stuck to him. it was a mess. don't get them.

I use both a digital and a "stick on" and I am surprised that the temps are almost dead on. The "stick on" is the round exo-terra type and is in the very top of the enclosure. My snake can't get at it b/c he is too small and there is nothing to climb on to reach it. I could take it off but it's not worth the grief. But I would totally recommend a digital as well though.

Digital with a probe is the best way to go. Thermometer on one end, stick the probe inside the warm hide.

Cheap, and much more accurate. Even better if it reads humidity as well.
