Rubbermaid sizes?
Im thinking of building a rack for some of my animals, and I'm confused as to what size rubbermaid to use for an adult bp?
Here, we only have 'Hammarplast' boxes, and the largest size is only 2 foot 4 in x 1 foot 4 in, and 1 foot 6 in tall...
I'm thinking that's too crammed for an adult ball, what do you think?
Thanks /Quensel

Hmm, Sterilite makes one thats 3 foot 6 inches x 19 inches and 7 inches deep. I wouldn't want to go much smaller than that.

I use rubbermiads that measure 23X16X6 for my adults and I have no problems with them. I used to use the "underbed" (34X16X6) and found they were too big, resulting in sporadic eating habits in all who inhabited them.

I use the same ones as mykee, and had the same problems with the bigger ones.

Thanks for the replies, all! I was thinking the box should be at least as long as the snake, to allow it to stretch out completely...
Interesting..

Shawn, stick with what works for YOU. I made some changes because things WEREN'T working. Don't mess with a good thing though. Lots of breeders (very successful ones too) use the long bins.

I was just kidding, although none of my BP's are big enough for anything like that. I BOught them in anticipation and so I could build a permanent Rack for them once the babies are grown. Right now they are in 16"L x 9"W x 6"H, thanks forthe info though.

Hey Mykee,
what's the largest Ball Python you keep in that size tub? I can't imagine stuffing my almost 3000g female in a 23x16x6 tub.. seems rather small to me for that large a female...? I never tried it thought, and this is a question not an observation...
Thanks for your thoughts,
Bristen.

Almost 3000g females, and a 1500g male for breeding. They fit just fine. I swear.
