Shy Eater?

Well I guess I got lucky on my first ball. I fed him a small rat tonight, about double the size of a large mouse anyways in width. I wanted his first meal to be smaller than what he could take since he hasn't been here all that long, but she told me that "it" was a great feeder and she'd never seen a ball with an appetite like this. I put the f/t rat in the tank and immediatly it snagged it coiled around it and dove head first into it water dish lol. It ate the rat right under water and then came up and went right to the hot spot.

So does this mean since it has an appetite like this there's a pretty good chance it's pretty healthy? It's supposed to be a she but she wasn't 100% sure. If I got some vent/tail pics could you guys tell? I could have the vet probe her when I take her for an exam but I'd like to know sooner than that.

Thanks,
John-Paul

Looking at tails doesn't really help, some people say they can tell but the best way is to get the vet to probe it for you.
