Male Breeding age

What is an average age for a male BP to be able to successfully breed? I thought I read somewhere 600g+ or 12 months but I am having trouble finding the site I was looking at before.

Thanks

600g is the general rule. I have heard of a few people having males breed within' 6-8 months of hatching.

Shawn, Colin's right; generally males are ready to breed during their second winter (16-20 mos.) at around 600-800g. Weight, in my experience, is more telling than age. To be sure, check for sperm plugs.

This thread has a crude description I wrote about how to check for sperm plugs.
