Okay, I feed my Boas in a seperate container outside their enclosure, I do this so they don't associate food with home. I leave them for 2-3 hours and then I have to handle them a bit to get them back in the cages.
Does anyone do this with Balls? And is brief gentle handling okay after eating just to get them back home?
Thanks

hey greenman i do the same thing. i usually feed them in the container then when they start moving around i hold my snakes and bring it back to their house so that they can be comfortable. so far it works for me.

as far as Ball Pythons go, they are easily stressed.. moving them for feeding could possibly make them eat a lot less. I would recommend that you just keep you ball pythons in their respective enclosure (house one animal per enclosure). I have a few ball pythons here and I've never had any problems with the exception of one big female that I have.. she ALWAYS wants to eat.. so for her, I'm just a little more careful when I open up her enclosure.. no issues with all the other ones...
Keep us posted,
Bristen.

I think when they refer to handling after a meal. They mean to hold it for awhile not moving it back to its cage..

oddly I give my snakes about 30-40 min for the prey to settle in their bellies and I feel the need I wont think twice about taking them out. Iv never had a problem with the feeding response to still be in or regurgitation.
I dont know, non of my snakes seem to care if they have a full belly or not.

Over the years of ball python ownership, I've fed both in and out of the enclosure, and feed exclusively in their enclosures for the past two years or so. I found no discernable difference in stress and eating regardless fo method. You say poe-tay-toe, I say poe-tah-toe. Whatever works for you.

handling whilst feeding
i have developed a sneaky little technique.....
i dont even think they notice....
Since i dont like feeding " the kids" in their home enclosures, i of course have a feeding box ( commonly referred to the box of death; due the few live feedings i supervise in there) however the minutes the snakes strikes and coils the prey( i make everyone strike and coil through the wiggle jiggle if it's frozen thawed...house policy, lol; not really just great feeding responses)
the second they coil around the prey and are " concentrating" on " killing" it... i gentely pick up the other end and put them in their box where as they are still " killing" the prey. they dont seem to notice and i dont handle them after they eat. ta-da
