Rubbed Scales >_<

I took my male ball python out of his rubbermaid today, so I could inspect him, and clean the rubbermaid.

On his head, about three scales are rubbed up I guess he must of rubbed them when he was 1. Trying to push open the lid (he does that every night for about 15 minutes after he comes out of his hide) 2. Burrowing in the paper towel (if paper towel could rub the scales??) 3. Pushing his hide and/or water dish around.

So my question is, which of these three is the most likely problem?? I can change any of them... I'm just not sure what it is. He does push stuff around a lot, and burrow a bit, and push on the lid. But the hide doesn't have any sharp or harsh edges, same with the water dish and lid, and paper towel is soft! I don't know how he did this...

Second question, the scales will be alright in a couple sheds, right?

Last question; should I raise the humidity more on his next shed? Will that help with the scales, or make it worse?

I know his head was not like this last night when I offered him food- he tried to escape as soon as I opened the lid, so I had to pick him up and put him back; and his head was normal.
