Usually there is a list of bidders, and the price is set to whatever they are looking for. Some people will bid a few cents higher, and the items go to the highest bidder. So if there are 10 items and starting bid is 5 bucks, and 12 people bid 5 bucks, and 3 bid 5.01, then the 10 items will go to the 3 people to bid 5.01, and the first 7 to bid 5.

Hope this helps-

Art
