Those pictures are just WILD! I remember helping out at the Amazon Exibit at the Vancouver Aquarium and watching the green anacondas eating pigs. Just amazing.

Theres one thing I learned after caring for so many big snakes at home and work ..
Rocks are by far in my oppinions the snakes that swallow the largest things.. Took her 8 hours to eat it!

Wow, nice pics. And nice Rock python. Looks like mine.
Just one correction, RETICS have no rivals when it comes down to take large items.
Take care, man.

Correction - Rocks have no rivals (not even close) when eating large food items.
We once fed 1 11 lb rabbits to our 19.5' retic, and 1 to our (at the time) 12' and still slender afrock. The Afrock won.
I personally think it has something to do with them being from Africa, where the food is only available in quantity during a short period of time. A lot of African animals are binge eaters, and will eat an amazing amount of food when it is available.
All of the pictures and video I've ever seen of snakes eating really large prey items have been Afrocks. Also, talking to other zoo keepers - Afrocks are the kings of large food in all of their opinions.
