Question Blonde asking questions again

Okay, I know cresteds are nocturnal. Do they have an internal time clock telling them, "Hey! It's dark out. Time to wake-up!" or is it based on observible light? ie. If you have them in a completely darkend room and it's 11:30 am would they be out and active? And vice versa. If you had them in your living room and the lights are still on at 11:30pm would they still be sleeping? Just checking. Still deciding where to put them. Thanks.

Kelly

i have leo's, which are also nocturnal in the main room of my house and it seems to sleep all day and then when i get home around 5 and clean the cage and do the feeding, it wakes up. I think it just gets used to your pattern and how you do things and goes from there.

Country:
The cresties in my livingroom wake up once it's dark outside, even with the room lights on. The ones in the upstairs hallway wake up when the sun sets, and there are no light on unless someone's walking through there. The ones in the dining room have lights on for a while, then none, and on again all evening long, and they get up when it's dark outside. Same deal with the gargoyles, leachianus, leopards and AFTs. They must sense it. Millions of years of evolution probably set their internal clocks to the 24 hour day cycle, and they just live by that.
