You cant get a better post than that Stockwell. Simple and to the point and he even has a pic so you cant mess it up. Genious.
Cheers,
Ryan

i have mine on sand fer now cause i bought it like that... i bought aspen shavings which is what most people seem to use because sand can cause impactions in the snake.. the only reason i haven't changed the substrate yet is cause these aspen shavings look sharp and i don't want a piece of wood sticking to makaveli's eyes or something... that's what i've been meaning to ask here, won't those sharp piece's of wood hurt my ksb?? or the eyes at least?
thanx

I'm currently using Ecofresh-its a pellet-type material, and has worked great so far. Much better than sand.

Shredded aspen is all I have ever used for my kenyans, and I plan to keep it that way. Sand is terrible. In the wild, they don't actually burrow in sand, and are more likely to be found in the underground burrows of other creatures. Sand retains way too much heat, and allows for no air flow. So my vote is for Aspen.
