heh nice lil ammie. They tame fairly easy if you handle them young and raise them right. But even the very tame ones can drop dead from stress on you if you handle them too much. I usually get mine out just before dark once or twice a month so I don't bother too much of their sleep. After dark...way after dark...it's like swatting a hornets nest even with the tame ones LOL. Oh...another thing. If you have a nippy one, wash your hands in ice cold water...cold hands get struck at less.

I think I had it easy..
She's CB and I got her pretty young, I only handle her once week or less. A bit more in the beginning. But other than allways picking her up gently, slowly and without gloves, I didn't do anything special with her. Her mate is the same. Guess we got lucky..

After about a week...I can never get any of my babies that I produce here to bite. I have actually had complaints from people who bought them hoping for the typical attitude. LOL

Nice ATB! My female is tame but my male is a nut bar! I take them both out of their cage with a hook but then I free handle her.
Cheers,
Trevor

Most of the people who I know who have emmies have never been bitten by them. I think they have an undeserved bad reputation.
WYZ, that is one of, if not the nicest Ammy I've ever seen! I absolutely love the colors!

Yah...Emeralds bad rep probably comes from all the wild caught animals on the market. Here is my favorite and first Emerald, Esmerelda with a 6 year old little girl. Normally, I wouldn't recomend this although none of my emeralds have ever tried to bite me (one of my males bit Morti though when I was probing him)...LOL...but Esmerelda is an extremely sweet snake. She won't even bite a rat till she sniffs it good to make sure it's something to eat.
