slate question

can i use slate as a substrate for a more natural loof and i dont like paper towel?

yes you can use slate or ceramic tiles.

Can somebody show me what Slate looks like?..i'm thinking like broken up pices of stone..is that right?

I use slate. It's not as good a conductor as people say, even with my UTH on max. Make sure you get as thin pieces as you can. Other than the conducting part, I highly recommend it. Looks very natural and they seem to love it. If there are any spaces left when I lay down the slate as best as I can, I just fill them in with the expandable coconut fibre stuff.

PS: make sure to file down the edges so they don't cut themselves.

its basiclay what you senn those flat rocks infront of fire places i dont use it for a substare i find it works realy good if you prop up egdes so they are hide spots

Hmm if i get tile the heat pad under wont work then do i need one or just get a rock?
