I'm also curious as to your set ups for the snappers. How do you perform water changes and such in such large enclosures. I love the way they look but can't imagine how I would keep them.

I have a room for all of my turtles, full of tanks, pens, ponds etc.. None of the snappers are all that big, one's 13",ones 8", 3 are 3.5" and the new 3 are just hatchlings.. So housing is relatively easy. For water changes, I just use a siphon and let the water run right outside and use a hose to fill it back up. Once they are really big and I have a house,Iwould Imagine I'll just build some large cement ponds for them. They are easily one of my favourite turtles, and worth keeping. My big one is a male, and the store I work at has a female of about the same size I imagine I will aquire eventually, so I'll have a guaranteed pair and will be well on their way to breeding size(not for awhile, but closer than the small ones). They grow pretty slowly, my 3.5" ones are over 2 years old!
