Breeding Kingsnake????

I have a desert kingsnake, does that mean I can only breed it with other desert kingsnakes or any type of kingsnake breed with another kingsnake?

Man, you're asking for it. There will no doubt be replies urging you to only breed same species (and ssp. for that matter) together. Fact is, you probably COULD breed it to just about any other NA colubrid, if everything was just right. Being canniballistic, your king may well eat the intended mate however. Myself, I would find a really nice snake of the same ssp. and breed for nuance of color, pattern, etc. I assume when you say "desert king" you are referring to L. getula splendida. Some have remarkable patterns (or lack of). Post some pics of yours.

Asking a question like that I doubt that you are ready to brumate or breed any snake, let alone incubate eggs and raise multiple neonates. Study up, find out what species/subspecies you have and find a mate for him/her.

Your best bet would be to find some good books at the library or a couple good care sheets on the net. Do the basic research for yourself and then ask some specific questions. Not many of us have time to type and entire care sheet. Just do a search... you'll find lots. My web site has links to a few.
