Camaras dont like water...

I went kayaking today, and made the mistake of bringing the camara...

Of course i fell in. When i got back to land (about 30 mins later) i opened the battery area, and it was all corroded... Nasty, anyway its completely screwed. It was oozing reddy brown stuff when i set it on the table...

Now im curious, how could water do that so fast? Could it be from the batteries?

Looks liek i gotta make a trip to staples and tell tehm how they sold me a deffective product

Water is a conductor (I believe), so if the batteries are just regular AA or something, then I could see how Then would have melted. Proabably overheated. IMO anyways.....
