Question blackout

The temperature in my incubator droped from 82 to 77 during the power outage. Will this have any effects on the eggs? My guess is that they'll be fine, but I just want to make sure.

i had 6 painted turtle eggs and i accidentaly unplugged the water heater for about a day and still they hatched..well only one hatched but only because i have never tried to breed anything before in my life and forsure did something wrong but i dont think it will affect it..key word is think get a second opinion before you get your hopes up

*sigh*

Depends on the species in which laid those eggs.

It would also depend on how long the eggs have been cooking... my incubators dropped a few degrees, but I quickly raised the temps back up. Iam not worried.. Good luck to you.

It was Giant Day Gecko eggs and they should do fine in 77 and they were in the incubator for 46 and 18 days. Usually their eggs hatch in 60-90 days. The incubator was set in a constant 82 degrees.

no worries, the first one just hatched..woohoo!
It's now in a 2.5G clitter box and I planned to give it natural sunlight for UVB until it's big enough to go into a 5G tank

If it were a spike I'd worry some but for the temp to drop 5 degrees just seems like a tiny little hiccup to me.

Thanx, got the second one hatched out around 12 hours after the first one did. They are so adorable, I'll post some pictures in the Lizard section soon
