possible buy??

hey, while at the petstore today purchasing food for all my pets. I came across this beautiful little guy/girl. I was just wondering if you guys think its a good deal?? I will not be getting it for a week or two but I'm just wondering your opinions. It looks like a striped and it is only $40. Good size also.

I'd appreciate your opinions as soon as possible since I can only hold it for a week. TY

Well, it's not a striped phase since it's tail is banded, but it is still a very nice looking leo! I say go for it too, thats a nice price.

It's called abberant. It has a striped body and regular tail banding. A stripe or jungle should have the markings from head to tail. It does look healthy, but get a fecal done. Just in case.

Aberrantly marked geckos, since it typically isn't a genetic trait, are usually worth around the same as regular geckos. Not sure what market price is for those in the states, but they usually run about $35-$45 CDN.

No it most likely wont show in the babys and I am pretty sure you are talking about dominant traits they show on the parents as well as the babys. recessive does not show in the parents only in the babys

I'm from the US and that's a little high for an abberant even from a Petstore. Also, it's not the best idea to buy from a Petstore anyway. You can get much better deals buying from Breeders at Reptile Expos. If it's a certain unmentionable chain petstore then I'd say definitely don't. it's a nice looking Leo but I think you can do better.

Don, you may also want to consider the fact that you are trying to sell of the other lizards you have because you are moving and cant travel with them and dont have the capabilities to ship all of them to your new home. Take the advice that has been given to you and research the animals you want in the future, ones that you can purchase after you have gotten settled into your new home and have had a chance to get the cages all set up and ready for new inhabitants. It makes no sense for you to pay an inflated price on an average gecko so that you can pack it up and stress it out a month down the road when you move it.

Well since it isnt striped, there are 2 other geckos with this one. The other two are kinda spotted so im geusing close to a year. e the average color they are light in color. Alicewave this inst a chain petstore and I think I know what one your talking about. It is privately owned and I get all my fish there and I bought some anoles there before. They have nice animals so I'm not worried about that.
