I've used the skull of a cow, a bike peg, coffe tins, paint rollers, I one time maid a hide/basking spto out of tin foil then the snake used it to get out.

I don't like weird hides... they don't make the cage look very nice. I usually use cardboard boxed, half logs, and stuff like that .

I havent had any yet, but i have agood idea to make one. Get a big sized rock. Then put paper mache all over it except for the bottom. You should probably leave an entry hole for the reptile. When its dry try and pull the rock out and you have yourslef a great looking hide

I recycle everything. My snakes hides consist of anything you can find in my pantry. Any & all things made of cardboard type material are used as long as their is no residues/scents etc. such as cleaning products etc. would leave. I have lots of snakes who poop in their hides all the time. Instead of cleaning it out, I just throw it out & replace it with an old KD box or something. I also have many margerine, sour cream & butter type tubs etc. that are used as water dishes etc. I hate spending money on expensive hides etc. & the snakes don't care if the hide cost $20 or if it is an old cereal box. Plus it is so much more pleasant just to throw it out when its full of poop then it is to clean it. Recycle/Reuse at my house. Mark I.
