Snakes in Window Well

There is a hole a bit bigger than a quarter in the corner of my window well. Have found small snakes in it before but no hole. As I cleared away leaves I found 2 decapitated small snake carcasses. Is the home from a larger snake and what would have killed the 2 smaller ones? Thanks!

It was probably a cat or some other smallish predator. Snakes don't decapitate their prey

I agree with above. Snakes eat their pray whole.
