Opening mouth.

My 5 month old Honduran milk snake opens her mouth a lot when I'm holding her. Looks like a yawn or jaw stretch. I don't see any signs of a respiratory infection. Is this normal?

I don't think I have had experience with this, but I kind of envision it as a sign that she's about to bite you. I'm really not sure though.

I wouldn't sweat it at all. My snakes all yawn while out. As long as you don't have any reason to believe there's RI there's nothing to worry about.

Just keep an eye on it to be on the safe side.
