Owl eggs?
I am aware, that this is not really a reptile related question, but i am aware that the people on this site are very smart, and could give me some advice on this. I just found a Barn owl (tyto abla) nest in my attics window, and i found that there two small eggs. they are brown and a little smaller than a chickens egg, but i found online that they ley eggs march to august, so what are these eggs. also is there anything i should to help this owl? Any thoughts?

Re: Owl eggs?
It might be hard for folks to say since we’re all in different countries and don’t fully understand your current season, weather, willdife, etc.
But in general, leave wild animals alone if they are not in immediate distress. They know what they’re doing. Hanging around or overly watching a nest will also scare parents so keep your distance.
Keep us posted.

Re: Owl eggs?
yeah, that makes sense. I simply discovered it today, and the owl flew away, i have not looked at the nest since, and do not plan to. i think it is awesome to have an owl nest in my attic, but yes, i will not disturb it. thanks for your input!

Re: Owl eggs?
If you want to watch it then set up a camera in your attic that is set off by motion and you'll get cool things. Some people set up webcams so they can check from their phone any time of day.

Re: Owl eggs?
Yeah I thought about doing that, but the space is simply too small, and u don't want to further disturb the animal. By the way to answer the season question from the beginning, I am in the northern hemisphere which is why it didn't make sense for there to be eggs, since its winter. Thanks for the advice guys!
