Ideas for places to climb

My red-tailed boa loves to climb when I get him out of his cage, but there aren't really any trees with low limbs suitable for it. Any ideas for something he can climb on while I get him outside in the sun and fresh air?

Re: Ideas for places to climb

I've seen a handful of people use PVC pipe to build "jungle gyms" for their (semi)arboreal snakes. It's light, easy to work with and easy to clean.

I just picked up a hatchling Bredli a few weeks ago. I built her a tiny perch using PVC pipe. I'll do the same when she grows into her bigger enclosure. I'll build her an outdoor version at some point too.

They’re super expensive, but they make “play trees/stands” for parrots made out of manzanita branches and other wood that would work. I have one for my parrot.

I like the idea of a pvc jungle gym. I've also let my snakes climb on a ladder outside.

PVC sounds too expensive and time-consuming. I like the trees that lose their bark for him to climb on. If I could just find one in the wild somewhere or one that's broken/dead, I could make a base to attach it to and it would be his regular jungle gym.

For what it's worth, the one I built cost less than $4 and took less than 10 minutes to cut and assemble. Obviously a larger one would cost a few bucks more and take a little more time. But I'm thinking you could build several tiers/levels for under $20 and an hour's worth of time
