Unhappy Red Tail mouth issue

I have had Bella for 7 yrs, she is 9 yrs old, 9 - 10 feet in length and 30 lbs. Her environment has not changed, and I have never had an issue with her before. Last month I noticed that she started opening her mouth for no apparent reason. The only time she's ever done that is when she was threatening me when I put her in water, same if I clean her off with a wet cloth, don't understand why she hates water but anyway..... after a couple of weeks she started leaving her mouth open just a little bit and the edge of her mouth at the front looked a bit strange. Now the front looks a little thicker and has a reddish tinge. I don't have a proper herp vet in my area and am totally prepared to find one else where. Any thoughts as to what it is, and how would I treat it. There is no sign of dehydration, she did refuse her last meal but I failed to notice that she is preparing to shed. I feed her colossal size frozen rats. Hope you can see what I mean in the pics.

Re: Red Tail mouth issue

Welcome to the forum Jewls. You'll be able to display pics after 5 posts. Not sure what's going on with your boa but from the sounds of things a visit to the vet might be in order.
