Question Carpet Python subspecies

I recently obtained a carpet python sold to me as a Queensland carpet. I'm assuming Queensland pertains to the locality. Would that make it a coastal carpet? I'd like to know what subspecies it is to know what size to expect from it.

Re: Carpet Python subspecies

Yes a Queensland carpet is a specific sub locality of the coastal. Nice snakes and a good sized female could approach 9'. Wouldn't expect it to get bigger than that but there are outliers.

Re: Carpet Python subspecies

You will find three of the sub-species in Queensland (mcdowelli, cheynei and metcalfei), so "Queensland carpet" ???

Re: Carpet Python subspecies

Queensland carpet could refer to coastal or jungle most probably, most likely coastal.
