Enchi Calico?

Was told this was an enchi calico. I can see the calico, but I'm not so sold on the enchi part. What do you guys think?

Could be a low quality example of the morph. Why don't you ask the seller to see pictures of the parents? See what he says. I think most enchis have a 4 leaf clover head stamp and it's hard to see it in this picture.

Could be a new breeder that assumes the enchi gene was inherited because a parent had it. Sometimes you do come across someone offering a het "insert dominant or codominant gene here". I know that such concerns are steering my own choices for possible breeding... don't want to produce babies that I can't identity.

Asking for help with identifying things you are unsure of from people who are knowledgable enough to give you the correct answer 100% of the time is so easy now with social media. Don't let a bit of uncertainty be a reason to not breed and learn as a hobbyist.

Oh, it isn't stopping me, just informing my choices. There are quite a few morphs out there with subtle differences... no point in starting by breeding two of them together and hoping to be able to sort out the offspring.

From the sounds of it, he's not the breeder. Sounds like a pitty handmedown from someone else and now this guy doesn't want it. I'm full up though and got too many other things going on outside of reptiles (thus my absence). I was just curious if my thoughts were correct on the lacking enchi. Which, apparently, they were.

There comes a point (for some it happens right at the beginning which is best IMO) where you really want to try and get the best examples and highest quality of the morph to add to your collection. The bitter aftertaste of poor quality long outlasts the sweet taste of a great price...quality in, quality out...and if you don't plan on breeding, it's still better to have a bit of a "wow factor" present, isn't it? IF that were a low grade enchi (which I am completely certain it isn't) I think it would definitely still be better to pass on it because of that.

Yeah. I really like high quality animals for sure. Even if not planning to breed, I like to look at them and think 'Man you'd make some nice babies!' Lol.

I'm not really looking for anything right now anyway. If anything, trying to downsize a bit to help balance the rest of my life. =/
