New Paradox I picked up
I just picked up this new Paradox at the Replicon show in Houston over the weekend. Let me know what you think about him. He has not been handled very much so he is a little snappy.

Mother: Pastel Dream Motley
Father: Aztec Het. Sharp Albino
I have no idea what all he has in him.

Re: New Paradox I picked up
Yeah, he seems very healthy. I haven't messed with him for a few days. I am going to let him settle until this weekend then start working on handling with him to see if I can get him settled down. He is a gorgeous snake and I would like to be able to take him around a little when he gets older.

Re: New Paradox I picked up
I'd leave him be a lot longer to be honest. 10-15 days or so. Handling him soccer rather than later isn't go to calm him down any quicker, if anything the opposite.
He's flighty because he's stressed and handing him now will stress him even more.
Also I'm no can of taking snakes out and about. Again, it's stressful for them but each to their own on that one so long as you can be sure of the snakes safety.

Re: New Paradox I picked up
Beautiful boa but I would give him more time as well. He's young so he is going to display defensive behavior. Great pickup! Consider feeding him inside of his enclosure also bc that will be one less thing for him to stress over.

I agree with the 10-15 days at least. The only reason I want to get him out is to get some still shots of him, but next weekend should be good. I just don't want him to go into shed before I get the pics. I also don't care for taking snakes out and about much, but for certain things I like to, to help bring light on the gentle creatures they can be. I am looking into getting a Hypo Burm for this also. So many kids easily change their mind after a short encounter. But I also like to talk to the kids about leaving wild snakes alone. As a fire fighter in south eastern Texas we get called out once in a while for snakes in homes or yards. i don't mind moving them no matter what they are, but we usually get there to find a dead snake with no head.

Re: New Paradox I picked up
Good stuff- apologies you don't necessarily someone's experience when they first post and I'd rather be safe than sorry.
It is a nice snake you have and I look forward to more pics in the future
