How big do Florida kings get?

I have heard 6-7 feet, and although I am fine with a snake that size, The pictures of florida kings I have seen seem very small. Does anyone know the average size?

The average is 3-4 feet. Florida Museum of Natural History lists the record length as 69.5 inches (5 foot 9.5 inches). The taxonomy for Kings is in flux right now, I'll check my collection of papers when I get home for descriptions.

Alright, Brooks Kings are currently considered Eastern Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis getula). In the book A Field Guide to Reptiles & Amphibians: Eastern and Central North America (Conant & Collins 1998) the average adult size range is described as being between 90 and 120 centimeters (3-4 foot). The Pyron & Burbrink 2009 paper on Kingsnakes suggests Easterns tend to be the largest of the Kingsnakes and mentions a maximum length recorded for Eastern Kingsnakes as a whopping 208.3 centimeters (6 foot 10 inches), but it doesn't have a reference for this specimen. Not having any luck finding it on my own either.

Average 4-4.5 feet, around 1000 grams. Monsters can push 6 feet and twice that weight.
