Smile Adopting :)

I've missed having some older/bigger snakes. Babies are great to work with, you know their personality from the get go, but there's just something so amazing and fascinating when you're working with larger snakes, of any species. I had a couple of adult RTBs before rehoming them when I moved out from my parents' place, and I miss having something a little bigger than my baby.

Well, I happened across this beauty in a FB group. After greatly considering the responsibility, and asking some questions to the person rehoming her, I jumped at the opportunity to have a Burm. I feel so honored and lucky right now, in light of the lacey act.

She's an Albino Granite, roughly 8 - 10ft long at the moment. The owner said she is a bit huffy in her enclosure, but is fine after you get her out. That's all good, I've always oggled the giants from afar and read about them, just never had the opportunity, and then the Lacey Act complicated things. We'll be picking her up on Friday.

Re: Adopting :)

Congrats on the new snake!

And I'm really admiring all the people that are working with big snakes... I mean I'm having some problems with my 5,5ft Russian Rat Snake (E. schrencki), I can't even imagine having snakes bigger than 6ft...

Re: Adopting :)

Oh I was hooked(ha) many many years ago when I got to hold a huge adult CP my buddy was selling. She was a stunning Jungle.~ I was just starting out with my baby BRB, and after that I was sold on larger/adult snakes. The giants I admired from afar, I just wasn't in a position to have them back then, but now I finally get my chance! <3

Re: Adopting :)

Congratulations and better pics as soon as you get her please . To be honest the statement grumpy in the viv wouldn't worry that much and I'll explain why. Just from my own personal experience I would describe both Daisy and Wilson as grumpy in the viv, when we go to remove them they hiss loudly pump the hook and inflate themselves. But once we have them out they are usually fine to work with
