Eastern Garter

Found this very healthy looking young snake close to dusk. Musked a bit, but surprisingly didn't try to bite. The head did flatten out a bit and the mouth opened up in a threat display when Becca moved in close with her phone to take the pic. Belly had a very nice blue tint, bright yellow stripe down the back.

Re: Eastern Garter

I opened my drivers door of my van and caught a baby crawling across the floor. Now he is living the good life pounding back rosies.

I was feeding my eastern rosies as well and have stopped due to her developing a hook worm. Was very unpleasent removing that little parasite from him. He is now on pinkies and actually switched quite easily.

Re: Eastern Garter

This one was catch and release, I only keep CB snakes.
Rosies are fathead minnows, and contain thiaminase, will damage or kill the snake if fed long-term. Feed baby garters guppies or endler's livebearers, never rosies or goldfish.
