Cleaning Day Pics
I was cleaning cages today and decided to snap a couple pics of two of my carpets. It was overcast and raining so the sun wasn't out. But these are still in natural light.
First up is my 2010 75% IJ jag male. I've had him since he was a hatchling, he has the best temperament out of all my carpets. Anyway, here he is.
Next is my 09 jungle female. I've been very happy with how she has turned out. I like her stripe that she has but it doesn't go all the way down her back. I'm hoping to find a striped male to pair her two but I've had a lot of difficulty locating one.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the complements. I've thought about seeing what Nick has. I'm going to see whats at Daytona this weekend and go from there. Those Palmerston jungles are pretty though.

Those are pieces I'm not using at the moment but I have one piece that I'm using in one of my ATB's cages for a few months now.

Re: Cleaning Day Pics
Beautiful. I love how light the yellow on your jag is. Great looking guys you got. What other carpets are in your care? Mikoh ' s suggestion of reaching out to nick is a good idea. He produced alot more snakes than usual this year and is starting to get stuff ready to ship out now. Great time to contact him before the snakes all go up on the website etc..

Re: Cleaning Day Pics
Thanks Frank's, I have two coastals and an ij in addition to these two. I may see what nick has, I just have to figure out if I would want to cross the Palmerston locale to my girl. It would be hard to not get a pair haha. I'm going to daytona this weekend so hopefully I can find a male there. If not ill definetly see what nick has.

Re: Cleaning Day Pics
Cool! You should post some pics of your other guys. (Especially the IJ). Can't wait to see what you buy at the expo.

Re: Cleaning Day Pics
So awesome. I absolutely love the contrast between the two of them. Not sure if it was planned or not but I dig it.
Debating on my next snake and its between a carpet or gtp. I'm normally not a fan of yellow or even yellow and black stuff but yellow and black carpets look outstanding.
I love the head to neck patter the lighter one has going on.
Maybe a newb question but when you say 75% IJ what does that mean? Just that 25% of the bloodline is something else?

Thanks for the kind words, without going crazy into genetics, the jag gene is a coastal trait. Not an ij trait, so people started crossing jags into ijs and jungles and even bredli to make designer snakes as they are sometimes called. So when you breed a pure coastal jag to a pure ij, you will end up with ij jags and ij jag sibs. these would be 50% ij jags. Now you take one of the 50%ij jags and breed it back to a pure ij and the jags and sibs will be 75% ij jags. And you can keep going for higher percentage snakes, I plan on trying to.breed bob to an ij female and try for 88% ij jags. so to answer your question, bob is 75% ij blood and 25% coastal blood.
