Decisions, Decisions
As Litter B approaches their first birthday, I am trying to narrow my holdback choice down to one baby.
The final two candidates are both female: Baby 04 and Baby 09. Baby 09 was my original pick, but Baby 04 is giving her a sudden run for her money.
Here are some photos:
Side by side in their drawers (Baby 04 left, Baby 09 right):
Solo Baby 04:
Solo Baby 09:
Solo Baby 04 again…of course she decided to shed the day *after* I took photos, so I had to take them again:
Baby Pile…Baby 04 on the top/left, and Baby 09 on the bottom/right. The former had just shed, the latter had not:
So why is this even close? Because I am shooting for a *red* holdback, and am not entirely sure that Baby 04, despite her promise, will develop that way. (Of course, I’m not 100% sure about Baby 09 as well…)
So…thoughts?
Thank you for your input,

Re: Decisions, Decisions
I don't know much about the breeding side of it but I personally like the looks of baby 09 better, but that's just me.

Re: Decisions, Decisions
You're right. They're both so beautiful, I can see how it would be very difficult to choose. Assuming that their personalities are about the same, I think I like baby 09 better,. It seems that the base color is slightly darker which provides more contract with the markings on her back. That said, I think you could flip a coin and not go wrong with either choice. Both are simply beautiful snakes.

Re: Decisions, Decisions
They're both gorgeous but if I had to choose one I think I'd keep #9.

Re: Decisions, Decisions
I think I'll wait until Baby 09 sheds again before making a final decision, just so I'm comparing apples to apples.
That said, based on votes so far, Baby 09 is ahead by the slimmest of margins (which, considering she had not just shed, is bonus points for her).
Thank you all for your comments!!!

Re: Decisions, Decisions
With regard to personalities, Baby 09 is one of the friendliest babies I've ever seen. Her brother 08 was the same way. Her brother 10, on the other hand, bit his Mom a few weeks back. (Which is funny, because he likes people fine.)

That might be the deciding factor for me, but I'd probably just keep both until I was certain of which one I wanted.
