My snake pooped his insides out!!
I have a ball python, almost two years old. I noticed he pooped something pink out with his normal poop. Idk what to do and I really need help!! I'm very worried. It sticks out about a half inch.

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
It sounds like a prolapse of some sort. I've never had the issue with my snakes but I've heard that a sugar and water solution will keep the area moist and it might help the prolapse recede. If not, you may have to get to a vet quickly.

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
that's pro laps yes. I had it with one of my viridis. U should see a vet asap to get it in again. You could do it yourself but if guess if you don't even know it is pro laps you better not try it yourself... It's very delicate and most important thing is to get the snake in a sterile environment (tub with paper towel) and keep it moist!!!

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
I'd head to a vet fast and what ever you do don't let it dry out

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
Thanks for all the help everyone!'
Okay, upon more research it is a prolapse. I cleaned him up and put him in a clean container with wet paper towels and water. Applied the sugar paste to it. Seems a little bulbous and like he tore his skin. He hasn't eatin in almost two weeks, should I avoid feeding him till this is back to normal or what? He eats once a week and always bites.

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
You really need to bring him to a vet ASAP. A prolapse that has torn is not going to repair itself.

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
its sugar Water, not sugar Paste that helps with a prolaps.. i do hope you did not smear a sugar paste on it.
2 parts sugar to 10 parts water, and go to a vet asap!

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
Hope it's not too late yet... It has to get back in asap and only your vet can do that properly. My GTP pushed it all out again right after the vet put it in, so he had to close it with some wires (like closing up after operation, don't know the proper english). Really, go to vet plz or loose your animal...

Re: My snake pooped his insides out!!
Chances are its not going to go back in on its own so you really need a vet. The reason for the sugar water is so the tissue doesn't dry out and Die. It needs to be done very quickly to prevent infection, tissue damage etc.
Do not try and push it back in yourself
