I want another snake. Ideas?

So I feel like buying another snake. I want something different then anything I've had... So def. not a Carpet or Boa. I have a few different ideas.
I've been thinking about a Woma, Green Tree, or False Water Cobra. I can't find any False Water Cobras for sale, so I might give up on that for now. I also started researching Womas and Green Trees, but I can't find any breeders that have them for sale right now.
Any breeder recommendations or thoughts on a unique species I should try?

I would suggest a black milk snake! Amazing snakes! Extremely docile, great eaters, like it cool and males can reach 6+ feet! Definitely my favorite of my small collection.

I know you said not more boas, but you can't go wrong with a good looking classic e. cenchria!!

All three of those are for sale right now on kingsnake. As for recommendations, what are your requirements? Do you want something to interact with, or just a show piece? What size is acceptable? Price range? Nocturnal or diurnal? Specific heat and humidity requirements, or something with forgiving husbandry? Rodent eaters only, or is any Prey item acceptable?

If you want something not common and easy to care for and interact with. I'd look into Russian rat snakes, definitely a snake that gets overlooked in the hobby. They are great feeders, curious and docile. They also get a good size, about the same size as the black milks, maybe a little smaller. Definitely worth looking into IMO.

I'll be honest I looked on Kingsnake and didn't really see anything I wanted.
The FWC on there is like a hundred bucks over priced.

I'd say my price range is like $300. I have some cages laying around and I feel like using one... As far as size I want to buy a young snake.
The only colubrids I'm really into right now are FWC"s and King Rats. The Russian Rat and Black Milk are awesome snakes, but I'm more of a Boid person.

Anyone know of any Woma breeders that have available animals right now? I kind of like them with really high contrast defined markings or ones that are very bright orange.

Not sure if he has any posted right now but you could email Jon Floyd and see if he has any womas available. He had one or two at the reptile show down here this past weekend. He has high contrast animals that he works with. You can look on his website and see if you like his adults.

Re: I want another snake. Ideas?

Thanks, I just emailed him though and he said he doesn't have any but he does have pregnant females...

Ugh... I'm in that " I want a new snake now!" mode and I can't find anything I'm looking for.

Re: I want another snake. Ideas?

I know how you feel Charles. I can't get a new snake until the fall but I'm doing my research now. I also think it's best to wait for what you REALLY want. It's a great feeling when you find exactly what you're looking for. The 2014 clutches are almost here. You'll have lots to choose from soon. I'm partial to colubrids myself but must admit those GTP's are gorgeous. I've seen some really nice womas too. Best wishes with your search.
