New, Improved Tokay Gecko
So, the previous Tokay I had had gone down hill quickly. Even the reptile store I got him from were very surprised. They had one other Tokay available so we did an exchange. They're going to work on rehabilitating the previous gecko. I wish them the best. I hate to "replace" animals but I don't think I could have done anything for that other gecko.
Anyway, here is my new chainsaw face. He's barking, biting, brightly coloured and very active.
The dark spots above his eye are bug guts. I offered him a worm and he shredded it.

Re: New, Improved Tokay Gecko
Forgot to post these. This was on the way home from the reptile store. I love her/his colours.
I wish this could have been better but what do you think? Male or Female?
I offered it some crickets tonight and s/he was instantly interested. Gobbled them all up from what I could see.

Re: New, Improved Tokay Gecko
I'm not a gecko expert, but it looks female to me. With male geckos, you can see hemipenile bulges that are very noticeable. My male crested gecko appears to have massive testicles, but it's the hemipenile bulges.
Tokays are really neat geckos- I used to have one for a few years. I love the barking, chirping sounds they make! Your new one looks a tad skinny, but other than that quite bright and healthy. I'd try to fatten him/her up a bit.

Re: New, Improved Tokay Gecko
Female is what I was thinking too.
There shouldn't be a problem with putting weight on this one because she apparently loves to eat. I wish I could give her roaches instead of crickets though.
