I thought I'd show some pictures of my Bitis arietans females. The first female is a Tanzanian import who came in this summer. She's big, about 2.5 feet long, and pretty calm. She gets going with puffing every now and then, but is very well-behaved on a hook and generally a surprisingly easy-going puff adder. (I'm sorry the pictures aren't the greatest- it's really hard to get good lighting in her cage).
And this yearling came in on a trade. She's probably the prettiest puff I've ever seen overall- she's got shades of mahogany, orange, yellow, buff, chocolate and black, and these sharp white spots down her sides. Her face is pinkish-purple with tan and every scale is tipped with black...she's just awesome. She's a Tanzanian x Cape CBB 2013.
And here's the little yearling male Doma, Tanzania locale male I'm getting next weekend from Al Coritz! I can't wait for these young ones to grow up and be ready to breed! :-D
