Cleaning Day
My 6 year old grandson gets mice from me to feed his own snake. I told him they weren't free and he had to earn them. So I hired him to help clean cages. Some times he takes on more than he can handle, but I have no doubt he will grow up with a passion for the awesome animals.

Re: Cleaning Day
Very cool man. I expected to see a nasty enclosure or something disgusting with that title, glad to see a 'feel good' thread.

Teaching them responsible and that you have to work for things you want. Now that what I like to see. Good job grandpa. Cute kid BTW. So what kind of snake is he holding in the pictures? Hard to tell on my phone.

Black Tail Cribo? That's a very nice looking snake, dude.
I need to get pointers on how to get my kids to clean my enclosures!

Re: Cleaning Day
That's awesome! He looks like a happy camper. My son is 4 and I love sharing my hobby with him. I'll be glad when he starts helping to clean the cages . Nice set-ups too.

I hope I can do this with my kids in the future, there is so much you can teach with these animals.
And I believe that is a King Rat?

No stinking goddess here. It is true as juveniles, the King rats slightly resemble the cribos, but that is in fact a Black Tail.

Re: Cleaning Day
My step kids are 9 and 10 and they love to help clean the rodent cages and they hold the snakes while I do maintenance on their cages, too...they love to brag to their classmates about the snakes at their dad's house...lol
