Have you ever had one of those days when after you build a new enclosure and view your varanus from behind the glass you realize OMG how the hell did he/she get so big. Then everyone that finds your hobby crazy always says "um we've been trying to tell you the damn thing isnt as small as you think." You never really thought your varanus was that big because you provided he/she with the maximum space you could muster up in your home. I live for these days. Its what keeps me going and drives me to continue to rehab monitors. My varanus Ornatus may not be the biggest compared to some but she's come along way and I'm proud of her. Her official length is 157.5 cm
in the photo shes still gravid.this is her second clutch and shes still learning the lay game
Now tell me, does that not look like something you would see when T-Rex roamed the earth? What an impressive animal. Thanks for sharing and more power to you for having the guts to keep an animal like that as a pet.
