Home of Venomous Animals
Gifttierhaus Eimsheim (= Home of Venomous Animals in Eimsheim, Germany)
I went to a small local reptile zoo not far from Frankfurt yesterday. It is a private zoo which specializes in venomous Animals, so there are only animals which are in some way venomous in the exhibition. There are some spiders, scorpions and frogs displayed, but most animals are obviously snakes. Here are some of them…
Vipers/Pit Vipers
Vipera ammodytes
Vipera ammodytes meridional
Macrovipera mauritanica
Echis coloratus
Atheris squamigera
Deinagkistrodon acutus
Cryptelytrops purpureomaculatus

If you visit Germany sometime you might really consider to go there. It is about 45 minutes from Frankfurt by car in a small village right next to the river Rhine. The only issue is timing, because they are open to the public only one weekend per month, so you should check out their schedule.
--> Gifttierhaus e.V. - Zoo der giftigen Tiere
They don’t have any information in English, but you will find their schedule under “Öffnungszeiten”

Love all of these guys, the Trimeresurus-trigonocephalus reminds me of mint and chocolate chip icecream :P

if you use Google Chrome, as your web browser, it will give you the option to automatically translate the page, if it detects that it is not in your native language...and the translations arnt that bad either, it copes quite well even with slang ....the world gets smaller every day!
