So most people usually, aim, focus, and take a picture. That's fine, but if you want good results from a smartphone camera, you'll need to do more than that.
Firstly, ditch your stock camera and get Camera FV-5.
Why do I prefer that app? The UI is great. All the functions you need are in one area and easy to get to.
Here is what most stock camera User Interfaces (UI's) look like.
Very simple, but there's no quick access to features like ISO, Flash, Etc.
Here's what the Camera FV-5 interface looks like.
As demonstrated, there's quick, easy access to all the features you need.
Now we'll talk about adjustment.
Rule #1: ISO should ALWAYS be at the very lowest or second lowest setting. My lowest setting are 50 and 100. I keep mine on 100.
Next, never use autofocus. It finds something flat and focuses on it. I.E if your subject is close to a wall, it's going to focus on the wall. So I use the Macro (close up) setting. You can touch far away objects on the Macro mode and it will still focus, and focus better than autofocus in my opinion. There are other focus modes to play with but I don't use anything but Macro. Now I'm going to upload a video of a few settings that you'll need to change before getting good results.
As I demonstrated, you'll need to make sure you have the highest resolution available.
Then you'll want to uncheck "review last photo" and uncheck "focus before capture".
When "Review last photo" is checked, it will give you a preview of the last photo you took with that app. That can be checked or unchecked.. It honestly your opinion and has no effect on quality. "Focus before capture" needs to be unchecked if you expect good results. Why? Because the app will automatically refocus right before a picture is taken. It will completely ruin your focus and it sucks. Basically once you have that done you're good. You can play around with your focus, white balance, color effects and get some great photos. I hope this has helped you. Thanks for reading
