Went to the Hamburg Reptile Expo this past weekend and came home with a leopard tortoise, which I've wanted to get before I got into reptiles. Henry is a cute little bugger. I don't know much about leopard tortoise appearance, maybe a little bit of pyramiding. Henry is currently housed in a waterland turtle tub (55"x24") for overwinter quarters, using pure cypress mulch for substrate at present. Powersun UV and basking light for heat/UVB, ceramic heat emitter for night hotspot. Temps run from 90s at hot end to 70ish on low end with a nice gradient in between.
Feeding second cut grass hay and dandelion greens, plantain, clover and grass from the yard while the weather still holds. Using Rep-cal for calcium supplementation. Had a good soak yesterday. Any suggestions/recommendations are welcome. Winter project will be planning outdoor habitat for this summer
