mouse size ok?
My brb is 2 ft long and only eats live, have hard time finding rat pups in my area, but ive been feeding her small adult mice and doesnt have a problem with them and after 2 days no lump is visible even though the prey is about double her girth...as opposed to the same as the thickest part of snake or 1.5 times...any advice or comments would be appreciated

Re: mouse size ok?
While a snake can eat large meals, I'd be hesitant to go double their girth for a young one, even if it is digested quickly. Better to offer a second helping of a smaller meals, or feed more often.

Da man has spoken ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.
Smaller is better with Boas, I try to feed my meals the same size as their body. Better digestion.

Re: mouse size ok?
The problem im having is with the supply around this area,i feed rat pups when available, but they're not always in so i resort to small mice then....in that case should i wait 10 days between meals instead of 7?

Re: mouse size ok?
Small mice are about 50% larger than rat pups, so that makes sense. :-)

Re: mouse size ok?
Why don't you just buy like 20 pairs of adult rats? Then you'll always have a litter of appropriate sized rat pups available.
