New 50/50 California King
So this little girl showed up on my doorstep. She has a little smiley face on her head; thus her name is Smiley. She's surprisingly not bitey at all for a baby king. She is, however, hungry. She eats like a pig.

That's one damn strong snake! How many terrariums have you gone through?
Oh, you meant, "...even strikes the glass" trying to get to you on the other side.

Baby kings tend to be defensive but they usually grow out of it. He'll probably mellow out as he gets bigger and more confident. Right now he's tiny and afraid that everything is out to eat him. I think my chilled out baby is a statistical outlier.
Scubadiver, that reminds me of the mantis shrimp. They have to be kept behind bulletproof aquarium glass because they can punch out ordinary glass. They hit with the force of a .22 caliber bullet. And they aren't very big either.

Re: New 50/50 California King
I really like those black & white banded Cali kings.. imo one of the better looking kingsnakes out there.. and they have such an attitude. The coastal variety is also great with dark chocolate brown & yellow bands.

My banana also has a smiley on his head a little bit. The little faces are so cute.

Amazing pickup SD! I remember having one just like that many years ago. He was feisty but i loved him. Maybe being female will keep her focused and cool. Grats.

Re: New 50/50 California King
I've got a couple more black and white Cal kings coming that are both supposed to be pretty mellow, especially for youngsters. So far I've only found females. Need a couple of crisp 50/50 black and white males and we're set.
The second girl, who has a heart on her head
The third girl, who has a V on her head
