I've never weighed any of my snakes so I can't say for sure what a 2ft BP should weigh.

As for feeding, I'd get him on rats as soon as you can. At that size mice aren't TOO small but he should probably take 2 or 3 at a feeding. He should really be taking small rats. I hear they are easier to switch when the snake is still young.

I would be surprised if your snake is too thin for rats. I'm not even sure that a ball python CAN be be too small for rats, most can eat them strait from the eggs. Pet stores aren't known in the snake community for giving good advice and I'm not sure that they are in this case.

I can't really associate the weight of the snake with the size but if you can post a picture I could be more of a help.

Well, My 9 month old bp which I also got from the petstore is 480 grams. He can eat 4 adult mice or 1 small rat.

well im by no means an expert and i dont like to call anyone a liar, but to the best of my knowledge BPs can take adult mice pretty much right after they hatch...

a 9-10 month old ball (if fed) should weigh in between 400-1000g. You're either off on the age, or your ball is the most undernourished snake I've heard of. At 2-3 months of age (how old a 200g ball should be) balls can take fuzzy rats. Please please please don't take what the "pet store guy" says as the word. They're usually quite useless when it comes to darn near anything. Also, if your ball is truly 9-10 months old, chances are he's not CB.

I don't know, how big are your adult mice? About the same size, maybe a little bigger.

Most adult mice that i've had in the past are about 35-45grams. So I think that you should either feed him more mice or get him on to rats and yes he could easily take a jumbo mouse most likely a jumbo and a regular adult mouse all depending on how big they are where you get them from. Then again thats just IMO.
