The vet visit itself will cost like 40-50$, and then whatever meds he'll need will cost $ too.

Auddi, if you are keeping herps, the word "expensive" cant be in your vocabulary! And anyway, that isn't even that expensive!
What he has is a PROLAPSE, and it is potentially fatal. Don't worry about price, just make sure he is at a vet's first thing tomorrow!

Go to the Vet but in the mean time try to keep it moist by spraying it with a water bottle. Good Luck, hopefully the problem gets solved.

NO NO NO!! Don't spray with water, this will make it swell, use sugar water. I had this happen to me. At first I panicked, but remember Roy's advice of sugar water, or even pure sugar. The sugar draws out the fluid in the hemipene and helps the snake to withdraw it.
So sugar water, or pure sugar (not salt!!!) and see a vet, ASAP. The hemipene may have to be amputated if he doesn't withdraw it or if it necrotizes. Good luck!

OK sorry , i was told that if this happens you should spray water on it (by more than 1 person), i never heard about sugar water but your point seems valid.

after paying $400 dollars to put down our dog (emergancy exam, euthenation, cremation, etc) $40 for a vet trip seems to be a bargin.

Yup, like Katt said, make a paste with sugar and water and apply that to the prolapse. Make sure it does not dry out!!!!! This is extremely important!!!!! The longer it is out, the greater risk your snake has of amputation or possible death.

Are you positive it’s the hemipenis? I think there is likelihood it could be intestines as well.

Take the advice given so far.
Is this snake from the deal you made where your snakes arrived at the others place dead?
