David and Goliath. a cute little story

Yesterday I was at the local pet shop when I was asked to take this little High White Cal King out of her cage so that they could feed it. Everyone there hates to pick her up, as she is a biter.

Well I had time to kill as my wife was out doing a little shopping and was to meet me there in an hour. So with no fear, I dug around in the tank until I found her and picked her out of the tank. No reaction...no problem..or so I thought..5 seconds later she sized me up and figured I would make a nice meal and latched on to my finger. Well it didn't take long and the word was out that she had claimed another victim. With the tenacity of David throwing the stone, she held on as I calmly checked out new stock around the store.

20 minutes later it looked like she was tired of the holding game and she released. Took a quick look around (gotta make sure no one is looking) and then lined up and did it again. Well that put a couple of the girls into hysterics. "Are you sure you don't have to be anywhere soon, Jim?", blurted out one of them.

Well another 15 minutes went by and a quick trip into the back room with a F/T pinkie in hand, I dabbed a little drop of hand sanitizer on her nose and she released (quickly replaced with a pinkie to satisfy he needs). I would love to pick her up just to keep up my first aid skills but they simply want too much for this one. I may revisit the issue in a month to see if they will budge on the price. They definitely don't conceal the fact that she is a B#$%^, not great for the sales pitch

I find that snakes that bite a lot, can be tamed down with lots of food, perhaps she's merely hungry.

I actually came across pretty much the same thing at my local pet shop. They have a "bad biter" there. It's a tangerine Hondo and they said that only a few employees are ALLOWED to handle it. They also told me when they do handle it they HAVE to hold it by the back of the head Well I was there a the wrong day because I asked to see it, since it was completely covered in it's substrate. I was actually told to come back because it wasn't going anywhere!!! LOL Maybe in a few weeks I'll ask again and see if I can talk them down in price too

Hey People,

Just a follow-up to the David and Goliath Story..
Well I just couldn't get this little guy out of my mind so last night I "negotiated" a MUCH BETTER DEAL, and now he lives with us...
My wife didn't believe it until she saw it. I don't think he eats because he's hungry, instead he eats because he just likes to chew..

All ya gotta do is stuff um with food...he took two fuzzies last night and he "played with them ", 2 hours of him swinging fuzzies in the air. no prob with the food size, he was just playing, funniest thing I've seen yet. The actual munching would take about 2 minutes...This guy is a character
