Question Good Incubators

I have two apricot pueblan milk snakes. One day I hope to breed them. I have always wanted to breed snakes as a hobby. I could build a incubator, but I was wondering what is the best one you can buy. personal feedback on incubators appreciated.

Re: Good Incubators

Not the best but tried and tested is the "REPTIBATOR" BY Zoo med. Very affordable also.

Re: Good Incubators

Find an old fridge that doesn't work anymore and build your own. I don't trust anything commercially available that isn't a few hundred bucks.

Re: Good Incubators

Zoo med is one of the only commercial incubators with a built in proportional thermostat. Very reliable.

Re: Good Incubators

There are actually other high quality incubators available in the marketplace. I picked up a used Lyon RL1 incubator off of ebay for $130. Professional quality with two thermostats, one electronic one uses a bi-metal wafer that provides very accurate temperature control. It sounds like you have some time, so I recommend that you keep you eyes open for just the right one for you. Just a thought...

Re: Good Incubators

That seems like a good deal, I think I'd just build my own if I were you but if a used one comes up at a good price like Jim got that could be a good way to go, too.

Re: Good Incubators

I built mine for a $125. It holds more than most commercial ones for similar cost.
