Amyae have arriveddddd
Don't have my nice little camera anymore, gave it to my wife to take pictures of my son for me while I'm away :-/
Also they were pretty cold so I figured it was a bad time for a photoshoot, and the female (the lighter one) is spawn of the devil. Barking, pushups, inflating and tiltin sideways, and biting me.

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
Man I remember when these things were like super rare and expensive.
Still, very cool.

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
I didn't buy them for the rarity or to make money, although I am hoping they will produce some babies since they are both of breeding size/age. They are just too cool when you see them in person and watch the behaviors. Pushups and the barking/growling is too cool, and are actually seem alot bigger when in hand.
They remind me of the stone dude from the fantastic four lol
Thanks guys

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
its pretty ugy honestly. Im not a great desginer, just some planting pots, drift wood, play sand and jade plant. Will post some pics when I get back, or maybe when i redesign it to look nicer. gonna grab some rocks and see if I cant make some natural caves. The male is so docile, and hasnt shown any signs of caring at all that the female is there. She get all uptight seeing him and switches hides though, and shes bigger lol No aggression though

Cool pictures. I see what you mean about them looking like the Thing with that pattern on their faces.

Yea I honestly haven't known about their availability here for too long, I just saw the occasional picture and never researched what species. I think I saw one on fauna like a year ago and decided to put it on the list. Opportunity came and I got a good deal since they are both breeding size and age

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
Few more pics. Went to check on the temps in enclosure and the hygrofarm was set to 87 , surface temp was 92. Not terribly accurate thermometer wise but once you figure out how to get it just right they do ok. Took the oppurtunity to snap some photos since I already bothered them.
Female doin pushups on my hand. Shouldnt be handlin but she was out 'basking'

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
Congrats! Those are a really sweet addition. Are the ridges on the back hard?

Nice one mate, they look good... you really can't go wrong with Nephs. I'm still waiting for the right specimens to add more to my collection of geckos.

Re: Amyae have arriveddddd
Thanks guys, The back is rough, but not spiny or prickly to the point where you can't rub your fingers down it. I guess its close to a bearded dragon spikes, ridged but not pointy enough to cause discomfort.
The female calmed down quite a bit as of this morning.
I originally had overhead heat, but the hot end of the cage has 3 hides overlapping each-other to give them some space if they get sick of eachother (they hide together occasionally and separate other times, so I think its good this way) but the overhead heat wasn't heating the substrate enough so I switched to flex-watt and just put a 13 watt backlight for show.
Very interesting species to say the least. Only day 1 but they both different 'personalities' or geckonalities or w.e
