Obtaining a BRB?
Ok, so I have decided that the next snake I would like to get is a BRB. I need to do some good reading up on them so if anyone has a good care sheet or website I can browse through that would be great! I am also posting this to as if anyone knows anybody I could purchase one from when I have everything ready for my new little one? thanks

Re: Obtaining a BRB?
Look into the brb section of the forum. We have a few brb breeders with some fantastic stock, snakesitter is one I believe.

It's in the brb section, but the search engine can refine what you need to sift through assuming proper search criteria

Re: Obtaining a BRB?
Deadly D, right now most rainbow breeders are between litter years. Babies typically arrive in the August to October timeframe (my pairs are hard at work pursuing that goal -- or at least they better be! ;-) ). You can find leftovers from last year, but all the really nice babies have long since found homes.
If you have any specific questions on care, please let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Re: Obtaining a BRB?
i haven't seen a whole lot of different patterns on them but the ones i like the most are the dark orange ones and the very light yellow. i assume one is more expensive than the other.

Re: Obtaining a BRB?
What looks like light yellow is more often than not a light orange normal or a full hypo. The former are priced equal to or slightly lower than normal, and the latter are a morph (carrying the genetics for reduced black pigment) and therefore fairly expensive compared to a normal Brazilian. They're all very attractive though!

Re: Obtaining a BRB?
The best place to start is by examining enclosure requirements, including adult space needed, temperature, and humidity, and making sure you can afford the equipment to properly maintain these. Note that this species likes it on the cool side (82F-72F), with high humidity (90%+ for babies), and does not like bright light. These factors will steer your choice of enclosure.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions on any of these factors. :-)
