DiamondxIJ Head Wobble?
My 2011 female DiamondxIJ is showing signs of neuro in the form of head wobble. I found her today after being lost for 29 days. She was very cold and I immediately noticed the major head wobble as soon as I picked her up. She had no head wobble prior to her escape. I'm hoping its because she's cold and possibly dehydrated. Any thoughts or suggestions?

She may have gotten injured. Give her a couple days with some heat and try feeding. If after a couple days she still doing it i would take her to a vet to get checked out. Also Diamond IJ do you mean Irain Jaya or Irain Jaya Jaguar? If it's Irain Jaya i would just take her straight to the vet and get her checked as it's only Jaguar that should ever show neurological issues. Keep us updated.

It's 50% Irian Jaya...no jag in her at all. She's been in her basking spot for a few hours now. I'm going to give her a nice soak in warm water. I think she'll drink and it will hydrate her skin. I'll update again on head wobble after her bath.

I gave her good soaking and she definitely felt a little better to the touch. The wobble was still there. I'm going to continue daily soaks to help hydrate faster. I've also added a humid hide to the Viv.

could she have come in contact with chemicals ?
over heating and chemicals,are the only thing i can think of,that would cause neuro issues to appear
other than,there being something like an anurism,etc in the brain
only jags carrry neuro issues as a trait in carpet pythons

I hope you have quarentined this snake. Probably not a pathogen of any sort but just incase. As said above only jags have a genetic nero issue that can be brought on by chemical exposure. Yours may be dehydrated or suffering some other environmental affects of being out for a while. Wait a week and see what happens. I hope it goes away. I personaly think it will and its just stress or the above. Good luck.

I doubt it was chemicals. I keep all my household chemicals in a secure cabinet because of my dogs. She would have had to climb a bare wall and open the cabinet door which has a magnetic latch.
I personally think its from dehydration and stress. Only time will tell though.
Yes, I do have its Viv in a separate room from all my other snakes.

I checked on her a few minutes ago and the wobble is not nearly as bad as yesterday. She wobbled less as she calmed down too. I handled her for a few minutes and then put her in for another warm soak. I'm happy to see some improvement.
